Welcome to our second week of Home Learning – here we present a few ideas along with the class sheet. Please do try and do as much as you can and get in touch if you’ve any questions.

This week we’d like to remind you to keep creative. If you need ideas – we like these videos from Rob Biddulph – you may have seen his illustrations in children’s books & we’re sure you’ll enjoy drawing along with him.

Ideas for

Try to do some measuring this week. If you have a measuring jug you could find out how many ml things hold. If you have a ruler or tape measure you could measure your bed, your shoes, a coffee table.

Ideas

Can you write a an A-Z poem this week? Take a topic like animals and use your knowledge of adverbs and adjectives to write your poem – can you think of something for every letter?

A is for black ants, scuttling across the garden

B is for buzzing bee, collecting pollen

C is for sleepy cat, snuggled on the sofa

In we have

been thinking about our bodies. Can you remember some of the experiments we did?

How about showing your family what we learned? You could do the hard-boiled egg and drinks one to talk about our teeth. Or demonsrate how the digestive system works with a pair of old tights?

  1. Hello Class 2. Week 2 already and missing you loads!! Holy week next week so we are almost at the end of Lent. Try hard to keep your Lenten promises and being the best you can be.   2. Hi Everyone I have done a lot of work. I have painted a rainbow for the window. I miss you all soooooo much. Please open the school soon so I don’t have to listen to wham with my mum‍‍

    I think that when we are able to reopen school I shall make listening to Wham tracks compulsory!!!

  4. Hello Aurora!! I bet your rainbow is beautiful in the window. Missing you loads. WHAM are amazing and were one of my favourite bands as a teenager which you know!! Sing Mamma Mia with your mum like we did in class 🙂

Following Boris Johnson’s 8pm announcement we now know that as of midnight tonight the country has entered a new period of Lockdown, a Lockdown that includes the closure of school. 

School will be open for the children of Key Workers and for pupils who are deemed vulnerable. All pupils will be provided with work in order for them to keep learning. 

Tonight’s announcement was very short notice for you as parents and also for us as a Staff. Tomorrow, by 11am there will be three tasks on the school website for each Class to complete as their Tuesday learning. However, School will be closed to ALL pupils tomorrow. 

 

Staff, however, will be in school preparing for the rest of the Lockdown. Through tomorrow we will prepare school to make it safe for Key worker pupils and vulnerable children to return. 

We will send out a form for you to apply for a place in the Keyworker Bubbles and we will let you know more about how children will be learning remotely. We will do our very best to re-open to Key Worker children and vulnerable pupils by Wednesday. 

I am aware of how difficult this is for you all, School closing creates a multitude of problems for everyone but data surrounding this awful disease dictates that this is a necessary step. As ever, the safety and health of everyone must be a priority.
