Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
This week in Class Two we have written our own, Coming Home story poems and we love our class display. We have also written our own Advent promises and shared them with the class. In RE we have looked at the stories of St Nicholas and Baboushka.
In Science we have continued to think about the skeleton, this time looking at animals and finding out about the different skeletal systems including external and internal etc. The video to the right tells you a little about exoskeletons.
In Maths we have been looking at different strategies that we can use to divide numbers. We have tried grouping, repeated addition and used our times tables and thought about which method works best for us and for the numbers/calculations we are doing.
We have also read and written our own shape poems in English – we have really enjoyed doing this and you can see some of our work on the right.
We have had a very busy start to this year. We have enjoyed learning about the Jewish faith in RE. We learned about life inside the Synagogue and in Jewish homes. We learned about the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat in Hebrew). The Sabbath is celebrated on Saturday but in fact starts at nightfall on Friday night and lasts until nightfall on Saturday (technically just before sunset on Friday until the appearance of three stars on the Saturday). It is ushered in by lighting candles and reciting a blessing.
We are now thinking about Advent.
